Officially launched in 2018, The Castaway Music Cruise is a rollicking time on the high seas filled with music instruction, jamming and lots of tropical flair! Your musical hosts, Guy & Sharrie George and Bing Futch, present a series of workshops for mountain dulcimer, ukulele, pennywhistle and Native American flute during the cruise, which takes a different route each year.
Comfortable conference rooms provide a peaceful learning environment and exclusive jam space while other group activities include meals, tours, trivia, flash mobs and plenty of relaxation. Our castaways have performed spontaneous tunes for the unsuspecting other guests and have played music on a white sand beach while sipping on boat drinks and dancing in the waves. It's a musical experience unlike any other!
Registration fees include a full slate of workshops for all skill levels, a spiral-bound booklet of music and resource materials (also available in digital form for tablets) and a special commemorative pick. Registration is $129 per cruise passenger/$79 for attendees of The Florida Gulf Coast Dulcimer Retreat. For those who only wish to jam and join the flash-mobs, the cost is $29 and includes musical arrangements created especially for each cruise.
